Deal is a very popular seaside town boasting some fantastic water front walks with friendly pubs, cafe's, restaurants, hotels, many of whom are sponsors of our club, and live music a plenty. Not forgetting the Championship golf courses next to us, we consider ourselves very lucky to live in such a beautiful place and many regular visitors to the town would support this.
Following the amalgamation of the two clubs, Deal Wanderers RFC and Betteshanger RFC in 2006, The Lions were formed and they have successfully maintained their Level 7 status playing in London & SE 2.
At Deal & Betteshanger Lions, we are proud of our links with the town and most of our 1st Team Squad emanate from our vibrant and successful youth rugby section, blended with a few players who now happily live and work in Deal from outside the area.We are always on the lookout for new players and supporters to join us at The Drill Field. We currently run 3 senior sides, a vets team and youth teams from 6 years to 18. What ever your age or ability, If you are new to the area and interested in playing rugby please contact our 1st Team Managers Alison Squire and Robbie Scully and they will be able to help you. If you would just like to become a member or supporter please come along and join us on any Saturday afternoon. We have a thriving social calendar and we would be pleased to welcome you and your family to the clubhouse and show you our magnificent bar facilities. :-)
